On 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will become law in the United Kingdom and all other member states of the European Union.
GDPR is wide ranging and will be applicable to all businesses. As well as your online activities it will also affect your responsibilities when processing data offline.
GDPR will impact your business in many different ways, not just in your use of the ShopWired platform for running your business.
We have already published guidance on GDPR which you can read here. We'll be publishing further guidance on or around the 14th May 2018.
If you are uncertain or need assistance with GDPR and it's impact on your new responsibilities under the legislation you should consult with a GDPR specialist. Each business is affected differently.
The ShopWired Help & Support team will not be able to answer questions in relation to GDPR:
- Unique to your business or website (we can only assist in general terms)
- About any aspect of your business that isn't directly related to your use of the ShopWired platform
- By live chat or telephone, all enquiries must be directed to gdpr@shopwired.co.uk
- With any question outside of the guidance posted on our help guide(s) about GDPR
Compliance GDPR will inevitably require you to make changes to your business processes and practices possibly including amendments to the text and information that's displayed on your website.
Our team will be happy to assist you in making changes to your website but if you require us to conduct work on your behalf (such as coding changes) these will be charged for at our standard rates. Unfortunately changes cannot be made free of charge.
